Walk Description
Directions: Drive from Port Ellen towards the southern distilleries and follow the road all the way to the end passing Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Ardbeg and Kildalton Cross and Chapel. When you reach Claggain Bay keep on driving to the end of the bay until you see a wee carpark on your right, this is the end of the official road.

Start: To access the beach you first need to cross a gate and follow the track which bends to the right. After you pass the first stone wall you need to head down (right) to the beach over the field. Try to avoid the cattle, especially when they have calves. The beach itself is small but beautiful and quite sheltered from cold westerly and northerly winds. With a bit of luck you can spot a lot of wildlife. We have seen Sea Eagles on several occasions here and most of the times seals as well. This beach is a wee gem and is a fantastic area for kids to discover too.
