Fishing on Islay

Islay FishingWild brown Trout and Salmon Fishing is possible on several rivers and lochs depending on season. Loch Gorm is one of the best loch's on Islay for Trout Fishing but there are many other Loch's on Islay where you can have a fantastic day's fishing. Some of the loch's are easy accessible by car, while others are accessible after a good walk through Islay's lovely country side. Sea angling is possible from Port Charlotte. Fishing is however restricted in most parts of Islay and permits and/or approval should be obtained at the several estate offices on Islay. See contact details below.

A few important tips
A few hints when fishing on Islay: let people know where you are going if you are taking to the hills and what time you expect to return back. When out boat fishing make sure that you wear the life jackets provided. Always check with the gamekeepers or the estate office if it is okay to fish a loch on a particular day, as stalking for deer takes place in some areas.
