Sanaigmore Bay

Directions: From Bridgend, follow the main road towards Bruichladdich. A mile before Bruichladdich is a sign to Kilchoman. Go right here and follow the single track road for one mile, then go right and follow the road until you get to the red phone box near Carnduncan. Go right to Sanaigmore and follow the road for another mile. You can park on the right of the Exmouth Memorial.

Walk: Follow the farm track heading east. Right beyond the buildings is a wall. Go left and walk down to the beach, keeping the wall on your left. Closer to the beach is a gate which you can cross. If you head right up the dunes at the end of the beach, you can follow the coastline to the east for another mile or so. There is a secluded cove almost surrounded by medium sized cobblestones, and further along the coast is an excellent beach. Upon returning, the Outback Art Gallery usually has a great collection of Islay related art, and they serve good coffee and home baking at weekends.
